Engagements During the 38 years of Nacka Big Band’s existence, engagements have varied. Summer dances at Hasselbacken and Mosebacke in Stockholm, annual general meetings and stunts for companies and associations, weddings and birthday parties and, last but not least, Nacka Big Band has played as a support band to the legendary “Tommy Dorsey Orchestra”. The band has participated in concerts with Sylvia Vrethammar, Svante Thuresson and the late Arne Domnérus among others. A few years ago the band gave a church concert together with the Nacka Church Choir, where Duke Ellington’s ”A Sacred Concert” was performed. In 1994, together with NBB:s 25 years jubilee a CD was released with the title: ”Omodern dansmusik” (which means ”Outdated dance music” in English). This is merely a small selection; otherwise the list would become much too long.
