About Nacka Big Band
Nacka Big Band was formed in 1969 by the trombonist, arranger and composer Stig Olsson. After a couple of years, the band was reorganized as a non-profit organization and has been self-supporting ever since. Very few changes have been made with regard to band members during the 38 years of existence. One might say they get along together; two of the original members are still playing with the band for example.
In 1995 the Icelandic drummer, Eddie Svavarsson took over the leadership. Stig Olsson retired from the band in the year 2001 because of age and ill health but now and then gives the guys a visit on rehearsals.
”Music knows no boundaries”
